I,
Dave Hansen, am son-in-law of Ross Langlitz who was the founder of Langlitz Leathers. My association with Langlitz Leathers began in 1973 when I purchased a used Padded Cascade from a motorcycle dealer in my hometown of Tigard, Oregon. After that, I began frequenting Langlitz as a customer, and later married Ross and Pinky's second daughter in 1981. Shortly thereafter,
my wife (Jackie) asked me to come to work for the company and I am now the General Manager. Ross and Pinky retired a few years later, leaving the shop to
Jackie. If you want to learn a little more of how Langlitz Leathers came about, please visit our HISTORY page.
It is our goal at Langlitz Leathers to build traditional motorcycle leathers as we did when Ross started the shop back in 1947. It was Ross' intention to build the best motorcycle leathers possible. We continue this philosophy with each garment we build. Ross designed a few styles that have endured decades of serious biker use and have proved perennial favorites of motorcyclists around the world. He did not design them to ride the waves of fashion, changing with the winds of each season. No ... each garment he designed in those early years, we still build. And, we do it in pretty much the same way---using the same tools, machines and in the same fashion.
