Virtual Shop Tour
English

Langlitz Leathers is not a large SHOP. Quite the contrary---it is a less than 3,000 square foot facility that is highly organized, but cramped for the 15 PEOPLE who work there. Located in primarily a residential neighborhood a mile east of downtown Portland, it resides in a modest block building that eschews fancy carpeting for simple concrete floors.

It's rare these days to actually see products being made. That is one experience you may enjoy when you enter our shop. You can order a custom set of leathers and see where they will be cut, sewn and shipped ... all in one room!

The customer area is relatively small by modern standards. In an area less than 10' by 10 feet, a customer can smell the rich aroma of finely tanned leather while he tries on jackets to either purchase or experience before ordering. Upon placing an order, the customer simply walks a few steps behind the COUNTER to be fitted for a set of leathers that will soon be cut on one of the 4 CUTTING TABLES nearby. Looking over the rack of women's jackets, most of the sewing machines are plainly visible, as well as the lining table.

For those who want to see the operation up close, we happily give short tours explaining each operation the garments go through in their production. In the process, you will get a chance to meet the folks who actually do the production work.

In the back of the shop, we have our storeroom where the leather is PILED to the ceiling in some places. You will be able to see a variety of COLORS that are available if you don't want the traditional black. And most importantly, you will see many thousands of dollars worth of leather that we have rejected because it failed meet our high standards.

In my opinion, the best part of the tour is meeting our employees, who do their utmost to build the "Finest Motorcycle Leathers in the World". If you live close or find yourself coming to Portland, please stop by our shop.
